News U.S. 95 Construction Focus of Wednesday Meeting

A new construction is set to start on a section of U.S. 95, and the Nevada Department of  Transportation is holding a meeting to let the public know about its plans.

The meeting will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center Multipurpose Room, 6601 North Buffalo Drive. NDOT will give a brief presentation at 5:30 p.m.

Construction is set to start in 2014 on what is known as Phase 2A of U.S. 95 Northwest Corridor Improvements Project.

Crews will be widening the freeway between Ann Road and Durango Drive, adding a HOV lane and auxiliary lanes in each direction. They will also be installing sound walls and landscaping.

NDOT is working with the City of Las Vegas and the Federal Highway Administration on the project.
