Construction Forces Detour along U.S. 95 and Rainbow Blvd.

Construction will force the detour of U.S. 95 and the partial closure of Rainbow Boulevard for the weekend.

Crews will be pouring concrete on the bridge deck of the Summerlin Parkway flyover bridge high occupancy vehicle or HOV lanes. The closures start at 9 p.m. Friday. The roads are set to reopen at 5 a.m. Sunday.

Drivers heading south on U.S. 95 will be detoured through Rainbow Boulevard. People driving east on Summerlin Parkway wanting to go northbound on U.S. 95 will be diverted through Buffalo Avenue. However, drivers heading from Summerlin Parkway east to U.S. 95 southbound will not encounter restrictions.

The on ramps from Lake Mead Boulevard to U.S. 95 southbound will be closed. Drivers can us Jones Boulevard to get to U.S. 95. Ramps to northbound U.S. 95 will not be impacted.

There will be no restrictions for drivers connecting from U.S. 95 northbound to Summerlin Parkway westbound. However, drivers on northbound U.S. 95 will be restricted to one lane in the construction area.

Drivers using Rainbow Boulevard will be diverted through surface streets. Silverstream Avenue will be closed at Rainbow Boulevard. People walking along Rainbow Boulevard will be escorted to the bridge in the area and directed to a safe crossing.

The entire project is expected to be finished July 2012.
