Construction Forces Lane Shift at Jones and Northern Beltway

Construction will force lanes along Jones Boulevard at the northern beltway to shift Sunday night.

Crews will be working on the Jones Boulevard Bridge which will be part of the 215 and Jones interchange. Traffic on Jones will be diverted to a temporary traffic signal at the beltway. The lane shift and traffic signal will start at 9 p.m. The work is set to be finished at 6 a.m. Monday. Traffic on the beltway will be shifted slightly to the south during the same time period.

In the next few weeks, drivers should be ready for another road in the area to close completely. Bradley Road will be closed at the beltway. That intersection will never reopen. Instead, a bridge will be built to carry traffic along Bradley Road over the beltway.

The construction is part of a $116 million project to improve the northern beltway and the interchanges at Decatur and Jones Boulevards.
