Mt. Charleston Snow Hosts Needed
Mt. Charleston Snow Hosts Needed

The Spring Mountain National Recreation Area is looking for volunteers to spend the winter helping people safely enjoy the Mt. Charleston area.

The recreation area is looking for Snow Hosts to work weekends and holidays. Thousands of people flock to the mountain each weekend and on holidays, but many of those visitors do not know some of the best and safest places to enjoy the snow.

The hosts will help promote safe snow play practices, provide information about the recreation area at roadside stations and educate mountain visitors.

Volunteers are needed to work now through the end of March. Volunteers should be at least 18 years old and able to work outdoors in cold conditions. Average shifts range between three and six hours.

Recreation area representatives will hold a Snow Host orientation at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 and Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the REI in Boca Park, 710 S. Rampart Boulevard.
