Elderly Woman in Critical Condition After Violent Robbery

LAS VEGAS -- Las Vegas police are looking for a suspect accused of beating and robbing a 95-year-old woman in broad daylight.

Police say on the morning of July 26, officers were called to a shopping center near Desert Inn and Decatur to investigate a robbery. When officers arrived, they found an elderly woman laying in the parking lot with serious injuries.

Investigators say the victim was walking through the parking lot when a female suspect tried to steal her purse. Police say the victim held on to the purse and was forced down to the pavement.

Officers say the suspect fled in a dark blue sub-compact vehicle. The suspect is described as a white female adult, approximately 20 to 24-years-old, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 120 to 140 pounds. Police say the driver of the getaway car is also a white female adult, possibly with long brown hair.

The victim is in critical condition from injuries sustained during the attack.
