Charges Dropped Against Suspect Arrested in Officer's Shooting
Crime

LAS VEGAS -- The second man arrested in the shooting of a Las Vegas Metro police officer has had charges against him dropped.

Marvin Wilson will remain in jail on an unrelated charge of larceny. Wilson had been originally charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest during a shooting that left officer Michael Madland with a life-threatening gunshot wound.

The District Attorney's office says there was not enough evidence to prove that Wilson was driving the stolen vehicle or that he knew it was stolen.

Damon Beal, the suspect who shot the officer, was shot and killed by Madland's partner.
