Construction on Kyle Canyon Road Restarts Monday
Transportation

Improvements to the Kyle Canyon Road on Mt. Charleston will start again Monday after a two-week hiatus.

Crews will go back to work Monday morning. They are widening the shoulder and excavating eastbound and westbound sides from Milepost 10 to where the road crosses U.S. 95.

If the weather is permitting, crews will continue to work on a box culvert that directs flood waters from the road.

A one-lane closure from Milepost 10 to Milepost 18 will be in place. Flaggers and a pilot car will direct traffic. Both shoulders will be closed in the same area for road widening.

When the project is finished there will be 17 miles of road shoulder and bike lanes, two roundabouts to Kyle Canyon Road, along with better access to developed hiking trails and campsites.
