City Offers Spring Break Camps

The city of Las Vegas offers several affordable spring break camps Monday-Friday, April 18-22, for kids ages 6-15.

Advance registration is required. Registration is available online, by telephone and at the centers that are offering the camps. Registration will continue until camps are full.

  • The Charleston Heights Arts Center, located at 800 S. Brush St., is offering both a drama workshop and a dance camp. The Rainbow Company Youth Theatre Spring Break Drama Workshop for youth in grades 2-6 costs $135 and runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. This popular annual workshop includes theatre games, improvisation, acting exercises, mime, rehearsal skills and plenty of fun. The participants will put on a free performance at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, on the main stage of the Charleston Heights Arts Center theatre.   • The Charleston Heights Spring Dance Camp offers intermediate/advanced dancers ages 12 and older intensive training in contemporary jazz from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. each day. The cost is $96.   • Municipal Pool will hold Spring Break Splash Camp for ages 6-11 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day at431 E. Bonanza Road. The cost is $110 and scholarships may be available for qualified candidates. This fun-filled water camp will provide a safe atmosphere with close supervision. Children will experience water safety activities, games, crafts, water polo, inner tube water polo, springboard diving, synchronized swimming and daily swimming lessons. There may be excursions offered at an additional fee. Children will need to bring a sack lunch, swimsuit, towel, and a change of dry clothes. Camps that run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for kids ages 6-15 are offered at five city of Las Vegas community centers. Children will have fun and stay busy enjoying age-appropriate activities, including sports, games, special events, arts and crafts under the supervision of staff. Camps are priced at $75 for the first child for the week and $70 for each additional child from the same household. Participants will need to bring a sack lunch, drink and snack every day.
