Pedestrian Bridge Nears Completion
Public Spaces

A pedestrian bridge that will take people over busy Lake Mead Boulevard at Tenaya Way is nearly complete.

The bridge is part of the multi-million dollar trail project in southern Nevada. The project connects current separate trails around the Las Vegas Valley into 20 miles of continuous trails from the northwest to the southeast. The bridge at Lake Mead Boulevard and Tenaya Way is part of the Lone Mountain Trail. A pedestrian bridge was also completed over Cheyenne. Besides installing bridges over busy roads the project has also added better footpaths, improved lighting and fences where the trail follows the Buffalo flood control channel.

The money for the project was provided by the Bureau of Land Management's sale of public land. In all the project has cost $4.7 million.
