Guided Hikes Planned for Fall Colors on Mt. Charleston

While it might still feel like summer in the Las Vegas valley, on Mt. Charleston the weather and the leaves are changing for fall.

The U.S. Forest Service will be offering a guided hike along Bristlecone Trial, which features yellow aspen. The hike will start at 10 a.m. Sunday.

There will also be a guided hike at Lee Meadows on Friday night, starting at 8 p.m.

For the kids, a junior ranger program for elementary school-aged students will start at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kyle Visitor Center.

For more information and to register for these events, go to gomtcharleston.com or call (702) 515-5408.

State Route 157, otherwise known as Kyle Canyon Road, is back open to all traffic. It was closed early this week after Sunday's thunderstorms.
