LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A 19-year-old awaiting trial in the shooting death of a Las Vegas mother of four pleaded not guilty Thursday to separate felony charges alleging that he held a knife to the throat of a 13-year-old boy during a street confrontation.

Clark County District Court Judge Jennifer Togliatti said she'll set a trial date later for Erich Milton Nowsch Jr. -- once it becomes clear whether he'll face trial May 26 in the Tammy Meyers slaying case.

Nowsch faces battery and child abuse with a weapon charges stemming from the alleged knife threat on Feb. 15.

Nowsch and a co-defendant, Derrick Andrews, have each pleaded not guilty in the fatal Feb. 12 shooting of Meyers in a cul-de-sac a block from Nowsch's home. Each could face up to life in prison.
