LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police said a barricade situation Sunday near Cheyenne Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive ended with the suspect being taken into custody.

Officers said they first received the call about the domestic dispute around 12:12 p.m. Apparently, the son was threatening his mom with a knife at a home in the 6500 block of Old Oxford Avenue, according to police.

Authorities said officers tried to get the suspect to come out of the garage he was hold up in, but he refused, so SWAT was called.  Neighbors described the scene as chaotic.

"Cars just came from everywhere! The helicopter was in the air; it was really scary. It was like a bomb threat or a terrorist threat. It was really scary. They had the street taped off. It was unexpected, very much unexpected,” said Jacobi Williams, neighbor.

At some point, the 28-year-old was standing near the outside of the garage, and that's when he was taken down with some sort of device. However, it's unclear if it was a stun gun, or a bean bag that was shot from a riffle.

The suspect was cuffed and taken into custody. The name of the suspect wasn't released.

No one was hurt during the incident, but neighbors were inconvenienced because they weren't allowed to enter the neighborhood during the standoff.
