Suspect accused in fatal shooting near Jones, Lake Mead ID'd

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police released the name of the man they think shot and killed another man near Jones and Lake Mead early Saturday morning.

Officers said they first received the call about the shooting in the 19000 block of North Jones Boulevard around 3:22 a.m. The suspect, 29-year-old Kolby Edwards had an argument with another man and it escalated into a shooting, according to police.

Police said when they arrived to the apartment complex they found the victim, whose identity wasn't released, with two gunshot wounds. Edwards was no where in sight.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center where he later died. The Clark County Coroner's office will release his name, age and the manner in which he died later.

Edwards, is described as a light-skinned black man, who's 5'7” and weighs 180 pounds.
