Shooting Victim Dies, Police Search for Suspect

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police are investigating the deadly shooting of a man at an apartment complex near Smoke Ranch Road and Tenaya Way Monday.

The shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. The victim was transported to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police are searching the area for the suspect.

According to police, the victim and the gunman were seen together within the complex arguing right before the shooting.

The gunman is described as a Hispanic male standing about 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. He is described as having very short hair and numerous tattoos on both arms and one on the back of his neck that extends to the middle of the back of his head. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and tan cargo shorts. The gunman is believed to have left the area on foot.

The identity of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
