Man Wanted in Fatal Shooting Surrenders to Police

LAS VEGAS -- The man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a 29-year-old woman has surrendered to a sheriff's deputy in Yavapai County, Arizona.

A 28-year-old man was also shot, but is in stable condition at University Medical Center.

Earlier in the day, Metro homicide detectives identified Troy White, 44, as a person of interest. He was last seen leaving the scene of the shooting armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

According to detectives, White may have driven away from the scene in a silver Dodge Durango.

The woman and man were shot about noon Friday in the 300 block of Altamira Road, near Buffalo and Alta drives.

They were taken to University Medical Center, where the woman died about 1:10 p.m., according to a police spokesperson. 

A  9-year-old boy ran to a neighbor's house to report the shooting, the police said. Four children, ranging in age from six months to 9 years old were in the house at the time but were not injured.

According to a Metro source, a 911 dispatcher was told that the child's father had just shot his mother and her friend.
