Groundbreaking Held for Home for Intellectually Challenged Seniors

Ground was broken Tuesday in a northwest neighborhood for a new home for intellectually challenged seniors.

New Vista Ranch will be built near Rainbow Boulevard and Grand Teton Drive. Besides providing a home-like environment for older Las Vegans who are mentally challenged, the center will house a medical clinic for challenged individuals of all ages. It will be the first medical clinic designed for people in southern Nevada with intellectual challenges.

The groundbreaking was for the first phase of the six-phase project. The other phases will include a community outreach center, a job development center and more housing for seniors. For more information, go to newvistanv.org.
