Las Vegas's Largest Job Fair on March 1st!

Job seekers take note! On Tuesday March 1st, the Texas Station Casino will be hosting the lasvegasjobs.com Job Fair, one of the biggest job fairs around. There will be 50 companies in attendance, looking for everything from account executives to stagehands! The fair takes place from  11am to 3pm, and job seekers are advised to bring plenty of resumes and dress professionally.

Monster Energy $3,500 Triple Air Contest this Weekend at Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard

Are you a snowboarder or Skier with some wicked tricks to show off? This weekend, the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort is hosting a Triple Air contest! Participants are invited to show off their best tricks over a series of 3 jumps, which are between 45 and 65 feet each. Jumps will be judged based on style, difficulty, magnitude, and landing. The Triple Air contest contest is open to male and female skiers and snowboarders of all ages. Registration begins at 8am on Sunday, February 27, and the contest starts at 10am. The cost to compete is $50 plus the entry fee, and there is a $3,500 cash purse on the line, plus prizes from Powder and Sun.

City Of Las Vegas Grants Available for Neighborhood Improvement Projects

The city of Las Vegas is offering grants of up to $5,000 through the Neighborhood Partners Fund. The money is available for projects that are done by nonprofit neighborhood associations registered with the city’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department, and require the nonprofit match funds with volunteer labor. Applications for the grants will be available at workshops offered throughout the city, or can be found online at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Apply/20718.htm.

Residents interested in the grants are encouraged to call 229-6681 to register the workshops, which will be held at the following time and location:

Tuesday, March 8 – 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Centennial Hills Community Center (YMCA), 6601 N. Buffalo Drive, 229-1702

Thursday, March 17 – 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Durango Hills Community Center (YMCA), 3521 Durango Drive, 240-9622
