Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Las Vegas skateboarders are working together to help a young man hurt in a shooting at a skate park.
Skaterscentral.com is presenting the Skate for Keaton Benefit competition Saturday. Seventeen-year-old Keaton Belliston was seriously hurt when two men robbed a group of skaters at Mountain Ridge Park in Centennial Hills on January 3. After taking several items from the young men, one suspect took out a gun and shot into the group hitting Belliston.
The competition is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Skate City Indoor Skate Park, 4915 Steptoe Street #100. Skateboarders can enter the competition with an entry fee of $10. Those interested can pre-register at skaterscentral.com or at the door on the day of the event. There will be a $10 entrance fee to the event. All proceeds from the door and competition will go to Keaton Belliston’s family. A portion of the food sales from the event will also be donated.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting. Jerry Santistevan, 21, of Las Vegas and a juvenile male are both facing robbery, battery and attempted murder charges.
