The devastation in Joplin, Missouri has prompted local students to lend a hand and raise money for a school heavily damaged by the massive tornado.

The students at Lamb of God School raised more than $2,000 for their sister Lutheran school in Missouri. The school was damaged when the storm hit the area in May. School officials hope to rebuild it in time for the new school year next fall.
"It is really near and dear to their hearts because they understand the Lutheran school and having a teacher lose something that is important to them. And so they give out of their hearts. We have had parents make large donations." said Sanna Klipfel the Principal at Lamb of God School.
The money came from this week's chapel donation. Some students even broke open their own piggy banks to give.
