Girl Scouts Take Action to Fix Crosswalk
A group of Girl Scouts worked Tuesday to make crosswalks near Rhodes Elementary School a little safer through a service project. Girl Scout Troop 199, working with Clark County School District Safe Routes to School program in the School-Community Partnership office, Look Out Kids About and City of Las Vegas Public Works, took part in the painting project. The troop painted the message "STOP! LOOK LEFT, LOOK RIGHT." at crosswalks to promote safe walking to and from schools. Many of the scouts attend middle schools nearby or have younger siblings, neighbors and friends attending the elementary school, and wanted to help make it safer for all students. A Safe Routes to School grant provided the stencils for the message.
