Coroner identifies 6-month-old girl from deadly dog attack

A 6-month-old girl attacked and killed by a family dog Monday has been identified as Kamiko Dao Tsuda-Saelee, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Investigators say the infant was playing in a walker near the dog when the dog attacked. They say the child's mother tried to stop the attack, but the dog had already inflicted serious damage. The infant was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The dog, a pit bull mixed breed, was taken into custody by county animal control officials.

Police say the attack appears to be a tragic accident and they do not expect criminal charges against the parents.
