Children hurt in possible DUI Crash in North Las Vegas, police say

NORTH LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — North Las Vegas police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash sending several people to the hospital.

The crash, which involves three vehicles happened shortly before 8 p.m Thursday night at the intersection of E Cheyenne Ave & N Pecos Rd.

Preliminary investigation determined that a red Chevy Silverado was traveling southbound on Pecos at a high rate of speed. During that time a silver Nissan SUV was making a left turn from Pecos road to travel westbound on Cheyenne Avenue. The red Chevy Silverado collided with the SUV and both vehicles pushed into a silver Ford focus.

Inside the red Chevy Silverado were a male driver and a male passenger. Both the driver and the passenger suffered injuries and were transported to University Medical Center. 

Inside the Nissan, SUV was a female driver, a one-year-old, and a four-year-old. All three were transported to University Medical Center. The one-year-old was listed in critical condition but is now stable. The four-year-old is still listed in critical condition. The female driver has minor injuries. 

The silver Ford focus had three occupants that all remained on scene and were not transported to the hospital.

DUI and speed are considered factors in this traffic crash.

The intersection of E Cheyenne Ave & N Pecos Rd is closed in all directions at this time. North Las Vegas police say to avoid the area.
