US 95 Freeway Overpass Work to Cause Las Vegas Detours
News

LAS VEGAS  -- Transportation officials say construction of a new U.S. Highway 95 overpass in northwest Las Vegas will prompt a detour for motorists for the next six months.

Rerouting began Tuesday for southbound traffic U.S. 95 at the new $44 million Horse Drive exit south of Kyle Canyon Road. City and Nevada Department of Transportation officials say the speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph and vehicles will be detoured off of the highway to ramps around the overpass construction zone.

Plans call for northbound U.S. 95 traffic to get a similar detour beginning in several weeks. The Horse Drive interchange is slated for completion in December 2010.
