Las Vegas Police Search for Suspects in Several Home Robberies

LAS VEGAS - Police are putting out an alert about two armed robbers. The men are considered armed and dangerous. During the last two months, the pair has targeted homes across the valley.

Ryan is one of their victims. He asked that his last name not be used in this story. Just after midnight, on a Sunday this month, Ryan was sitting on a driveway with his friend. He soon found himself staring down the barrel of a gun.

"He walked me up there (to the house) with a gun to my neck and took me in the house and threw me on the bed," Ryan said. "Meanwhile, she was on the bed, and the guy who brought her in was holding a gun to her head."

Ryan was hog-tied while both robbers searched for money at the home off West Tropical Parkway. He says a third robber was also present. "When there was a gun to my head, there is no being a hero," he said. "The only way you could be a hero in that situation is to basically just do whatever they wanted so you could remain alive."

Heather Andrews lives in the Centennial Hills neighborhood where Ryan was attacked. "I can't think of a scarier scenario than a home invasion," she said. "I think it has made the neighborhood feel more vulnerable."

Craig Wright, a nearby block captain, is also concerned. He encourages all neighbors to get to know one another to help prevent crime. "If I'm unaware of who should be frequenting that home, then I may very well be a witness to a crime being committed and not even know it," he said. Wright is circulating Metro's crime alert notice to his neighbors.

Ryan, meanwhile, is glad his ordeal ended safely. "I felt that it was God's hand on it saying, ‘I'm going to take care of you,'" he said.

Authorities are releasing sketches of the suspects. Metro Police describe the first man as black, six feet tall, weighing 180lbs. and with bad facial acne. The second suspect is a mixed-race male adult, 5'7", 150lbs and about 20 years old. People with information about these suspects are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.

Police remind you to lock your doors and windows, keep your garage door closed at all times and never open the door unless you know the person on the other side.
