Centennial Hills Rotary Club Hosting Clothing Swap Fundraiser March 12th

Centennial Hills Rotary Club would like to invite the community to attend their second annual Clothing Swap Fundraiser tomorrow, March 12th. With the clothing Swap, people are encouraged to empty out their closets of the women's and children's clothing, accessories, coats, shoes, and jewelery they don't wear and are still in good condition, and bring it down to the swap. Everyone will then be able to exchange their items for someone else's. It costs $20 to participate in the swap.

The Clothing Swap will take place at the Silverstone Golf Course Club House, 8600 Cupp Drive, Las Vegas Nevada, from 9am to 4pm, and will benefit Safe Nest and Dress for Success.

Centennial High School's NJROTC Holding  Car Washes March 12th

Centennial High School's NJROTC is hosting a series of car washes this Saturday to raise money for a trip to Nationals. The group is charging $5 a car, and will be hosting car washes from 9am to 4pm at the following locations:

  • Lake Mead and Tenaya
  • Craig and Decatur
  • Lake Mead and Rainbow
  • Buffalo and Washington
  • Craig and Tenaya

Just a reminder, everyone- Daylight Savings Time starts up this Sunday. Everyone needs to set their clocks ahead by one hour. Make sure you get to bed early on Saturday, as you will have one less hour to sleep in on Sunday!

Voter Registration: Las Vegas City Clerk’s Office Open Extended Hours This Weekend

Residents of the city of Las Vegas who would like to vote in the upcoming Primary Election have until Tuesday, March 15, to register to vote. Individuals who have not registered to vote by March 15 will be unable to vote in the upcoming elections.

To help out those wishiong to register, the City Clerk's Office will be open for extended hours through March 15. Voter Registration is possible from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., today through Sunday, March 13;  Monday and Tuesday the office will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The City Clerk's Office is located on the first floor of Las Vegas City Hall, 400 Stewart Ave. If a person has moved since he or she originally registered, it is necessary to notify the Clark County Election Department of the change by calling 455-VOTE (8683).

People who would like to donate blood but are too busy to do it during the week are in luck!  Saturday, March 12th and Sunday March 13th the Rampart Casino and the JW Marriott Las Vegas are holding a blood drive to help support United Blood Services which provides a blood supply to 22 clinics and hospitals in Southern Nevada and Northern Arizona.

Donors can arrive anytime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.  You can also schedule a reservations by calling United Blood Services at (702) 638-7400, or go online to www.unitedbloodservices.org/lv. Refreshments will be served.

Rudy Ruettiger Shares his Story at the Cora Coleman Center March 28th

Those who have seen the film “Rudy” know the story is about a kid who has always dreamed of playing college football for Notre Dame, who works hard and takes hits to finally get his one chance to play. The center of the real-life story is Rudy Ruettiger, who will share his story and motivate seniors during a presentation and meet and greet at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 28 at the Cora Coleman Senior Center, 2100 Bonnie Lane in northeast Las Vegas. Blood Drive March 12th at Liberty Tax Service

This Saturday, Liberty Tax Service will be hosting a blood drive at the location in the Saver's Shopping Center. United Blood Service will be on hand with their mobile unit to collect blood. Currently, Southern Nevada needs 250 donors a DAY to meet the needs of local hospitals, and USB is hoping 100 people will donate at Saturday's drive.

The Blood Drive is geared to be a family friendly event, with refreshments, cotton candy, and a jump house to entertain kids while parents give blood. Three Squares will be on hand to collect food donations, and other community partners will be holding giveaways. All blood donors will also be entered into a raffle, and receive a ticket for a free Lake Mead Midday cruise.

The blood drive will take place from 11am to 3pm on Saturday March 12th at the Liberty Tax Service in the Saver's Shopping Center, 3131 N. Rancho Drive, Suite B, Las Vegas NV 98130
