One dead in rollover crash on 215, Lone Mountain

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nevada Highway Patrol says at approximately 6:06 a.m. they responded to a single-vehicle crash on the IR215 and Lone Mountain Road.

A red 2016 Dodge Charger was driving northbound on the IR215 when for unknown reasons the driver allowed the vehicle to go off the roadway. The vehicle entered the dirt area, continued north, and struck the concrete bridge embankment for the Lone Mountain overpass. The vehicle then overturned.

The 28-year-old male driver was airlifted to UMC where he was pronounced deceased. At this time it is unknown whether speed or impairment played a factor. ... Read More

Trump postpones nationwide immigration enforcement sweep

WASHINGTON (AP) – President Donald Trump on Saturday said he was postponing a nationwide immigration sweep to deport people living in the U.S. illegally, including families, saying he would give lawmakers time to work out border solutions.

The move came after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had called Trump on Friday asking him to call off the operation. Separately, administration officials told The Associated Press that Immigration and Customs Enforcement was concerned that details leaked to the media could jeopardize its agents.

“At the request of Democrats, I have delayed the Illegal Immigration Removal Process (Deportation) for two weeks to see if the Democrats and Republicans can get together and work out a solution to the Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern Border,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “If not, Deportations start!”... Metro investigating fatal shooting near Washington, Las Vegas Blvd

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas police are investigating the fatal shooting of a black male in his 40s that occurred around 3:30 a.m. near the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard North and East Washington Avenue.

ONLY ON 8: Mother of child who died from accidental overdose speaks out

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – On April 13, 2019, Metro Police say 1-year-old Myla Byrne died of an accidental overdose.

“It was all just confusing to me,” said Myla’s mother. “Going to bed and telling your daughter good night, and then, waking up and you don’t have her anymore.”

Myla’s mother didn’t want to show her face on camera. But, she and her sister wanted their side of the story heard.

“I want the world to understand that my sister would give anything right now to have her back,” her sister said.

The family says Myla was being watched by her grandmother in another room. Myla’s mother was sleeping when the incident happened.

“I told the detectives do what you need to do because I have just as many questions as you do.”

Police say Myla was found unresponsive inside of a home at the Siena Suites on Boulder Highway.

“Now, I’m sitting here and I’m told that she overdosed. I don’t understand,” said Myla’s mother. ... Read More
