Opening of 2 Taverns Will Create Jobs

LAS VEGAS -- More than two dozen jobs will soon be available thanks to the opening of two new taverns.

Golden Gaming, Inc., which operates the PT's and Sierra Gold brands, will open the taverns next month. A new PT's Gold will open on August 31st on S. Buffalo Drive just off the 215 and a re-branded PT's Pub will open on August 19th at Craig and Decatur.

The 25 to 35 new positions include cooks, kitchen managers, assistant kitchen managers, bar hosts and servers. The jobs will be filled at three job fairs. The job fairs will be on July 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., August 2nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and August 9th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

All three job fairs will be held at Sierra Gold at 6515 S. Jones Road, just off the 215.

MountainView Hospital Announces $34 Million Expansion

LAS VEGAS -- MountainView Hospital has announced a $34 million expansion and renovation. The project will begin in early 2011.

The expansion will expand the emergency room to add 20 more beds, a brand new triage area to help patients be quickly assessed, a new ambulance entrance, and new equipment. A renovation will be also made to the 72-bed surgical unit.

"Despite difficult economic times and increased competition, we are committed to meeting the needs of our community and will continue to innovate and grow. Through this expansion we will be able to provide additional space, services and technology to care for our patients," said CEO Will Wagnon, MountainView Hospital.

Witnesses React to Officer Shooting

LAS VEGAS -- A domestic disturbance Sunday night a the Summerhill Pointe Apartments is the third officer involved shooting in eight days.

Police say one man shot another in the leg, and then pointed the gun at officers, forcing them to shoot.

"Everybody's a little on edge. They're all kind of freaked out about the shootings," said neighbor Wayne Pender.

Residents are still in shock from the shooting. Metro says around 3 p.m., family attempting to pick up grandchildren from the apartment called 911 to report the suspect, 27-year-old Dennis Lovelady had a gun on him.

Officers arrived, but since the gun was legally registered to Lovelady, they left. Pender says Lovelady seemed agitated earlier that day. The suspect described as a nuisance was sitting in his friend's car.

Police Investigate Third Officer Shooting in 8 Days

LAS VEGAS -- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating another officer involved shooting.

Around 4:15 p.m., police responded to a domestic violence call involving a suspect with a deadly weapon at the Summerhill Pointe Apartments on Sahara near Fort Apache.

Police say a man, his wife, and her ex-husband got into a fight at an apartment and the husband shot the ex-husband in the leg.

Police say when they arrived, they found the husband and got into a confrontation with him. Two officers shot him multiple times. He was rushed to University Medical Center and sent to surgery. He is in critical condition.

This is the 18th officer involved shooting in Metro's jurisdiction this year. There have been three in the past eight days.

Metro Releases Identities of Officers Involved in Shooting

LAS VEGAS -- The identities of the three Metro officers involved in a shooting last week are being released.

Metro says 39-year-old Sergeant James Carroll who has been with the force since 1989, 23-year-old Officer Coleman Oswald who has been with Metro for one year and 39-year-old Officer Stephen Ayres who has been with the force since 1998 were involved in the July 15th shooting.

Officers were called to the scene near Rainbow and Alexander after shots were fired at a passerby. The suspect, 27-year-old Jason Vanbuskirk was hit once and now faces attempted murder charges.

Officer-Involved Shooting in Northwest Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS -- Las Vegas police shot a man Thursday night after they say the man fired shots at officers and a passerby.

The incident started after a woman called 911 saying her ex-boyfriend, 27-year-old Jason Vanbuskirk, was outside her house with a gun.

When officers arrived at the scene near Rainbow and Alexander, they say Vanbuskirk fired several shots at them and someone riding a moped. Three officers shot back at the suspect, hitting him once in the chest. Vanbuskirk was taken to UMC in critical but stable condition.

Initially, officers said the suspect had died from his injuries, but then said he survived the shooting.

All three officers were put on administrative leave. Vanbuskirk faces three counts of attempted murder of a police officer and one count of attempted murder.

Man Found Shot in a Car

LAS VEGAS -- A man was found shot multiple times in a car at AM/PM on Bonanza and Martin Luther King. The victim has life threatening injuries.

Police say just before 6:00 a.m., the victim drove his shot up car to the gas station. The clerk noticed the man's injuries and called 911. He was taken to UMC with life-threatening injuries.

Police have no suspects in the case.
